This weekend I'm going to take some black and white photos cause I miss em and I haven't taken any in quite a while. I'm thinking of going back to that field/park that I used before, but I'll go to a different part of it. It's supposedly going to snow tomorrow so let's cross our fingers. And

Side Note: Chantay is going to be in them whether she likes it or not.

Testing Out the Flash

Over the weekend I tested out the manual flash (yet again), but luckily this time the results were a lot better. I figured out that when shooting portraits it's better to have it on the purple setting because the light will be less intense and it won't blow out the person's face.

I want to continue to experiment with the flash. My next project will be do something at night with the flash (possibly american apparel-esque).

I really want to make a collage like this one. I like how even though the images are all different (sizes and color v.s. b&w) and are not of the same person they all seem to relate to one another. I also think the transparent burst of color is really fun.

anddd, it reminds me of ads from my favorite store, urban outfitters

I really like this photo for several reasons:

-bright, contrasting colors

-lots of lines (on concrete, on tie, in water, way the body is bent) and the lines are really simple giving the photo a very geometric look.

-the strong shadows both in the water and on the body.

-the relaxed "chilling by the pool" pose. it makes it look a little more natural and less like a fashion ad.

and it makes me really wish i had a pool to take pictures by
